The Bideford Canoe Experience is great fun, paddling open canoes on the gorgeous River Torridge, Bideford, North Devon.

No experience or special clothing required. All equipment provided along with your fully qualified guide.

You will learn the basics of canoe paddling and head off on a canoe journey to explore, see wildlife, and practice a variety of canoeing skills.

The Torridge has a terrific amount of wildlife and interesting history.  

You will see the stunning countryside from a new and exciting perspective. 

Common sights include jumping fish, Heron, Kingfisher, Curlew, Cormorant, Sandpipers, Ducks, Geese, Dragon fly,  and if you are really lucky maybe Tarka The Otter himself!

Additional information:-
The experience is between 3 – 4 hours, suitable for anyone aged 16 or over and is relatively fit.
All under 18’s must be accompanied by a parent / legal guardian.
We paddle tandem canoes so please book in pairs. Sometimes there is an opportunity for a person to paddle with the guide (please enquire).

This experience is not suitable for dogs.
You will be guided by Paul Clark who has been running award winning guided canoe trips for more than 10 years. Due to the tides and Paul’s availability there are only 1/2 dozen of these unique experiences each year between May and August.
